David Price, age 18: Grand Prize Winner in the Utah Division.

 David Price (Grand Prize winner in the 2nd Stradivarius International Violin Competition Utah Division), the youngest of nine musical children, recently graduated from Alta High School.  His teachers have included Deborah Moench, Jack Ashton, and Eugene Watanabe on violin and Denise Farrington on piano.  At age 12, he soloed with the Utah Symphony in "Salute to Youth" and has appeared with them twice since then.  He was a Youth Guild winner in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010, and he has placed multiple times in the Utah State Fair, Stillman Kelly, and MTNA state and regional level competitions.  At age 11 he toured Italy with the Rocky Mountain Strings.  In 2007, David received the Utah award in the youth division of the Stradivarius International Violin Competition and was a first place winner in the UMTA competition in 2009.  In October 2009,r he was featured on NPR with the Gifted Music School Orchestra on the popular radio program "From the Top".
