1ST LAUREATE

Yoonshin Song of Korea: 1st Laureate in 2007 competition.

Yoonshin Song (the 1st price winner of the 1st Stradivarius International Violin Competition), a 25 year-old violinist, has recently won the Second Prize in the 25th Lipizer International Violin Competition in Italy. At the same time she was appointed as a winner of the Special Prize for the best performance of a Paganini Caprice. She accomplished her Master's Degree in Violin Performance and currently started a Graduate Diploma Program at the New England Conservatory.

2ND LAUREATE

Andrej PowerAndrej Power of Sweden: 2nd Laureate in 2007 competition.

Andrej Power (2nd prize winner of the 1st Stradivarius International Violin Competition) was born on the 21st of January 1988. New Years day 1992 he began to play the violin, at the age of 3. Soon he began to play concerts with orchestras and appeared in different television shows in Sweden.  He played his first concert with a chamber orchestra when he was 7 years old, performing the Bach A-minor concerto. Three years later he played Wieniawski’s concerto no. 2 with a symphony orchestra. Andrej went to his first competition, “Berlinske Tidende” held in Copenhagen, when he was 10 years old. There he won 1st prize and the grand prize as the talent of the year.

3RD LAUREATE

Sharon ParkSharon Park of the USA: 3rd Laureate in 2007 competition.
Sharon Park (3rd price winner of the 1st Stradivarius International Violin Competition) began studying the violin at the young age of 4 and won her first competition at 5 years old. Recently, she was invited to participate in the 2006 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition in Bulogne-sur-Mer, France. She performed the Shostakovich Quartet No.14 in F# Major as part of the Shostakovich Quartets cycle in Jordan Hall, Boston MA.

YOUTH CATEGORY

Mindy ChenMindy Chen of the USA: Grand Prize Winner in the Youth Division

Mindy Chen (11 years old, the Grand Price Winner of the 1st Stradivarius International Violin Competition Youth Category), now a fifth grader, was born in California on Feb. 14, 1996. She started playing the violin at the age of 4 and has been studying with Mr. Li Lin, a teacher from the Preparatory Division of San Francisco Conservatory of Music for 6 years.
