Alexis Hatch

Violin soloist, Alexis Hatch, born
into a musical family, began studying the violin with her father, American
violist Peter Hatch, from the age of four. By the time she was eight, she was
playing in concerts with her sister, Heidi Hatch, and the rest of her family. At age ten, she was also featured as soloist with the Alicante Symphony in Spain.
From 2007 to 2011, she lived in Spain, where she studied at the Escuela Superior Reina Sofia in Madrid, and was accepted in the class of Zakhar Bron. During this time, she performed regularly in the International Festival of Villanueva de los Infantes, both as a soloist with orchestra, and as a chamber musician. She was also heard in recitals in the Spanish cities of Cuidad Real, Alicante, and El Camepello.
In 2010, Alexis made a number of video recordings for the Spanish National Radio and Television series Jovenes Solistas (Young Soloists) which are still broadcasted on weekends throughout Spain.
In 2011 and 2012, she was a prize winner in the Antelope Valley Young Artist competition and in 2013 in the Palisades Symphony Young Artist Competition. She has won competitive scholarships from the Young Musician’s Foundation in Los Angeles and has participated in chamber music master classes with the YMF. As a member of The Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, she performed Mahler’s Eighth Symphony with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel as well as at the Hollywood Bowl in productions of Carmina Burana and Swan Lake.
In addition to playing the violin, Alexis Hatch is an accomplished viola player and has also studied the classical guitar.
