1st Laureate
Emma Meinrenken, Canada - 1st Laureate of the 2013 Competition

Emma Meinrenken, age 14, is a scholarship student of Atis Bankas in the Young Artist Performance Academy of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada. Since she started playing the violin at the age of4, Emma has won top awards in many competitions. Emma plays on the Jamieson-Ivey Amati violin from 1670, on loan from Royal Conservatory of Music.
2nd Laureate
Colleen Venables, Canada - 2nd Laureate of the 2013 Competition

Colleen Venables, age 16, is a student of Bill van der Sloot at Mount Royal University Conservatory. She was a participate in the 2012 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition and has won many 1st prizes at the BC Performing Arts Festivals as well as taking 1st prize at the 2012 Canadian National Music Festival.
3rd Laureate
Gallia Kastner, US - 3rd Laureate of the 2013 Competition

Gallia Kastner is a 16 year old merit scholarship student of The Susan and Richard Kiphart Academy Fellowship. She studies with Almita and Roland Vamos at The Music Institute of Chicago. She commenced her private violin study at five and a half with Betty Haag-Kuhnke. In the course of her accomplishments, Gallia has won numerous competitions locally, nationally, and internationally both as a soloist and a chamber musician.
