Suni Norman

Suni Norman (age 16) began playing the violin at age 8. She
lives in Tooele, Utah and studies under the direction of Robert Waters. Former
teachers include Melodie Gardner and Jack Ashton. She was a member of the Salt Lake Youth
Chamber for three years and is currently a member of the Young Artist Chamber
Players where she is concertmaster. Suni
placed third in the International Piano and Strings competition in 2012 where
she performed at the Kaufman Center in New York City. At her performance, she was invited to
perform in Carnegie Hall on December 22, 2012.
Suni was selected to play in the All-State Orchestra in 2012 and 2013.
She received honorable mention at MTNA 2012, first runner-up at the Oquirrh
Mountain Symphony Concerto Competition 2013 and was invited to perform at the
Utah State Capitol in February 2013. Suni was a Salute to Youth Finalist for
the Utah Symphony 2011 and 2012, Youth Guild Recital Winner in 2013 and has
performed at Lobbyfest for the past two years. Suni is currently a sophomore at
Stansbury High School.
