At her Carnegie Hall solo debut to a sold-out audience, Hannah White's performance was proclaimed by the New York Times as "highlight of the evening" and "terrific," noting that "her technical dexterity and expressive flair earned an enthusiastic ovation." Chicago Splash described Hannah White as, "delightful...violin prodigy...brought smiles and chuckles to the audience."
A Fellow Laureate, Hannah is in her sixth year as merit scholarship recipient and member of the Academy of Music Institute of Chicago's(MIC) Academy, a pre-college training program for highly gifted musicians studying with MIC artist faculty members Almita and Roland Vamos and Dr. Hye-Sun Lee. Hannah is recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship, the Isaac Stern Charitable Foundation Award, the Puth Foundation Scholarship, the Farwell Trust Award, and the Carrie Rondeau Scholarship.
Hannah White has performed solos with many orchestras including the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony Orchestra, South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Madison Symphony Orchestra, Sphinx Symphony Orchestra, Oistrach Symphony Orchestra, Dexter Community Orchestra, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Senior Symphony, Music Institute of Chicago Academy String Orchestra, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra String Orchestra, and Waukesha Area Youth Orchestra. Hannah performed with members of Chicago Symphony Orchestra and TorQ Percussion Quartet. She is engaged to perform with Buffalo Symphony Orchestra and perform at Kennedy Center for the 100 year celebration of Kennedy performing for the Kennedy family and US Government Officials.
Hannah has won at numerous competitions including 1st Place Laureate at the Sphinx Competition Junior Division in 2015, Winner at Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Young Artists/Stars of Tomorrow Competition in 2015, 1st Place at Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) at the National, Regional, and State Level in 2013, 1st Place at Madison Youth Concerto Competition in 2012, 1st Place at Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Senior Symphony Concerto Competition (the youngest ever to win in the 56 year history of MYSO) in 2012, 1st Place at Chinese Fine Arts Music Competition in 2012, 1st Place at Grandquist Music Competition in 2012, 1st Place at Sejong Cultural Society's Music Competition in Junior Division in 2011 and 1st Place in Elementary Division in 2010 1st Place at Midwest Young Artists/Walgreens National Concerto Competition as Category Winner and also 1st Place as Overall Winner in 2011, Music Institute of Chicago Academy String Orchestra Concerto Competition in 2011 and in 2010, 1st place at DePaul Concert( Festival for Young Performers in 2010, 1st Place at Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra String Orchestra Concerto Competition in 2009, and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Bach Double Competition in 2008.
Other achievements include Honorable Mention at 2016 American String Teachers Association (ASTA) String Competition, Semi-Finalist at Cooper International Competition in 2015, and Semi-Finalist at Stradivarius International Competition in 2013.
As an avid chamber player, Hannah's group received 1st Place at 2015 St. Paul String Quartet Chamber Competition, 1st Place at Jules M. Laser Chamber Competition/Society of American Musicians in 2014, 2nd Place at AN Pearl Barnett Chamber Competition in 2016 and 2015, Honorable Mention Discover/Midwest Young Artists Chamber Competition in 2014 and 2015, and Honorable Mention at Fischoff Chamber Competition in 2015. Her group is currently Semi-Finalist status of the M-Prize International Chamber Competition.
Hannah has appeared in String's Magazine, Strad Magazine, Bein and Fushi Magazine, The Violin Chanel, Chicago's WFMT's 98.7fm Introduction Programs, NPR's From The Top, ABC Chicago 7 Heart and Soul, MPTV Black Nouveau Program, WCLV-fm, WCPN-fm WVIZ, Ideastream, Sound of Applause Program, DTV, KBS Broadcast, Sphinx Quarter Note, and many newspapers and magazines throughout parts of United States including New York Times, Cleveland.com, Miami Times, DetroitNews.com, and Al Jazeera.
Some additional highlights of Hannah's musical career include soloing on a 15-city tour throughout the United Sates with Sphinx Virtuosi in 2015, 2014, and will also solo during 2016 tour. Hannah has performed at numerous school outreaches throughout United States reaching audiences in the tens of thousands. She has given master classes, taught at schools, and participated in a residency at Columbia University, San Jose State University, and Houston University. Hannah has performed at League of American Orchestra Conference, Council on Foundations Conference, Moscow Ballet, Fulcrum Point and Thodos Dance Chicago, Lake Forest Symphony Annual Galas, Martin Luther King Celebrations, MIC Annual Galas, Chinese-US Chamber of Commerce Galas, Ryerson Gala, Steinway Music Series, Music in the Loft Series, Cedarburg Cultural Center, Summer Kaleidoscope Series, National Music Guild, Koach Group, Italidea-Midwest, University of Illinois reception, Wealth Conference, Beethoven International Project, and many more She has performed throughout United States at businesses and corporations throughout United States, synagogues, churches, weddings Bar Mitzvahs and other social engagements.
